He was setting a prop to the roof at the coal face when part of the roof which he was going to support suddenly fell injuring him so severely that he died six months later. One prop was displaced by the fall and deceased was setting a prop to comply with the timbering rule. The place had been inspected by a deputy four hours before and found to be in order.
