Deceased had drawn a sprag from some holed coal and was in the act of getting the coal off, when a fall of roof occurred. After the fall, the sides and the roof of the cavity were seen to be smooth and glossy, it being a "pothole" or "bell." He was removed to Walsall Hospital, where he died on 19th July, of heart failure following delirium tremens, which supervened as the result of the injuries sustained at the time of the accident.
