17 January 1934: Musselburgh Miner Killed - James Dillon (60), a miner, who resided at 76 Rothesay Place, Musselburgh, was crushed by a fall of stone from the roof of an underground working of Carberry Colliery, Musselburgh, and died at the pit-bottom as arrangements were being made to convey him to the surface.
