28 November 1937: Newtongrange Mineworker Electrocuted - William Dickson, 34 Seventh Street, Newtongrange, an 18-year-old surface worker in the employment of the Lothian Coal Company (Ltd.), came into contact with a live wire on Saturday and was electrocuted whilst at work at Lingerwood Pit, Newbattle Collieries.
