In roadway shunt whilst repairing. With fireman for two hours had been clipping the roof to allow tubs room to travel, the roof had settled several inches from previous day. Fireman left deceased to fill the chipped shale, whilst deceased was doing this the roof fell on him. On one side was a pronounced slip plainly to be seen. No timber under roof, had trusted to its being generally good. The slip and the settling should have warned them the place was dangerous. Fall 9 feet 7 inches long, 8 feet 9 inches wide, 14 inches thick. (Roof good).
