- Details of Event
- Derbyshire, along with two others, was inspecting the bottom of an engine brow, when a set of 8 full tubs ran back from 80 yards upbrow owing to the drawbar of the leading tub breaking. He was caught by the runaway tubs at the corner of a manhole and instantly killed. A "drag" had been attached behind the last tub of set, and it appeared that when the tubs commenced to run back they rode over the drag keeping to rails.
