- The empty set on running into the landing runs up against any empty tubs there may already be in the landing. At the inbye end of the landing there is a chock but the set sometimes runs into the landing at so great a speed that the inbye tub has been forced over the chock. In this instance, although they had been warned to always remain in a refuge hole until the full set had been hauled out of the landing, it would appear that the boy had put his hack against the inbye tub next the chock and his hands against a baulk supporting the roof. The empty set had come into the landing and bumped the tubs already there the innermost tub had been forced over the chock and the boy’s head had been caught between it and the baulk.
