- Details of Event
- Deceased was taking a wagon filled with limestone out of the quarry, along a falling gradient. He was seen riding on the buffer of the wagon as it entered a tunnel 20 yards long and soon after a scream was heard, and he was found lying on the ground badly injured. He was most likely crushed against the side of the tunnel at a spot where there was only 27ins. between the rail and the side. He had done the work for many years. He died in two days.
