After the fireman had fired a shot at the coal face he requested the deceased to set another prop as he noticed a slip in the roof. While deceased was preparing to set the prop a stone 6 feet long and 2.5 feet wide and 1 foot 4 inched thick fell upon him causing fatal injuries. One prop was canted out by the fall which fell from between two props running parallel with the coal face. The last row of props was set about 3 feet 6 inches back from the face.
