Deceased was putting a full tram on to the rails in the lower deck of a cage when the hitcher who had taken an empty tram out of the upper deck thinking all was right signalled the cage up. The cage was raised and the tram deceased had been putting on the rails fell out and deceased after being raised 7 or 8 yards also fell out. The hitcher admitted at the inquest that he signalled in mistake.
