The signal had been given for the endless rope jig brow to stop at close of shift, immediately deceased rushed into the brow to get out, whilst the jigger was pinning down the break the lever broke, liberating the wheel, and the tubs went away uncontrolled. Deceased was first struck by the rope, preventing his getting out of the way of empty tubs which ran on to him.
