Details of Event
Deceased was cleaning a hauling engine when it was started and he was struck on the abdomen by the fly-wheel. The engine was of the portable type with a boiler above it which prevented the engineman from seeing deceased. It was a rule that the engineman was to be told when deceased intended to do any cleaning but in this instance he appears to have forgotten to do so. Died April 4, 1904.
