- Fall in jig brow whilst repairing, deceased steed on three iron pipes (compressed air) 4 feet from floor, stowing dirt on iron girders. From 2 yards higher up the brow and from the lip edge of roof some stone fell displacing a prop, one stone fell on the three pipes whilst he was getting down, astride the pipes, the stone slid down on the pipes struck his back, forcing the lower part of his body against a pipe flange, the serious injury caused his death in three and a half hours. Two companions standing on the floor got away uninjured. The lip edge of roof ought to have had a bar under or more props. (Roof good.).
