20 June 1923: Miner Killed At Cardenden – A miner was killed on Wednesday in the Lochgelly Coal Company’s Dundonald colliery at Cardenden. He was identified as Thomas Davidson, 25, a married man living at Denside, Cardenden. A large mass of stone fell from the roof and gave the deceased no chance of saving himself.
