From the evidence at the inquest it would appear that deceased was standing between wagons, a short distance apart, for a private purpose, when in the course of shunting operations some more wagons bumped into those standing. Had he looked along the siding he would have seen what was taking place, as there was an uninterrupted view. Unfortunately he was deaf and so did not hear the whistle of the engine.
