Inspection made. He was carrying a box of explosives to the colliery from the magazine and instead of going along the roadway he went a shorter way through a fence and along a footpath by the edge of the reservoir when he probably slipped and fell in the reservoir and was drowned. The box of explosives was found on the footpath close to the reservoir.
