Details of Event
Died March 31, 1903. Deceased was cleaning up and repairing on the engine plane in the Low Main seam when a thin shell of stone fell from the roof upon him and fractured his spine. Other men were working about 25 yards from him, and he was released in a few minutes. The master shifter bad examined the place before work was started and he considered it safe.
