19 October 1937: Loanhead Colliery Fatality - David Currie, a machineman employed by the Shotts Iron Co. (Ltd.), was fatally injured while at work in Burghlee Colliery, Loanhead. Currie was struck by a large stone which fell from the roof and was instantaneously killed. Deceased was 37 years of age, and resided at Newfield Place, Polton Street, Bonnyrigg.
