22 December 1923: Accident At Bowhill - Robert Curran, machineman, Bowhill Colliery met with a rather serious accident last Saturday morning about the finish of his shift. Curran was working on the night shift, and while thus engaged a stone came away from the side which caught him, bruising his ribs and back. After being examined by Dr Walker he was conveyed to his residence at Lumphinnans by ambulance motor. [Dunfermline Journal 29 December 1923]
