- 12 August 1941: MINER CRUSHED AT FIFE COLLIERY - Died Four Months Later - An inquiry was held at Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court to-day before Sheriff Substitute J. W. More into the death of William Cunningham miner, 3 Shotburn Crescent, Leven, who died in Wemyss Memorial Hospital four months after he had been crushed between hutches at Wellesley Colliery. James Cunningham, miner, brother of deceased said that on April 10 his brother continued working after the accident, but was finally forced to give up work and on the doctor's orders entered the hospital, where died on August 12.
