Details of Event
The shift had finished and deceased with another boy were bringing their ponies out. Deceased was holding a trap door open when the ponies started kicking each other. Deceased was kicked in the stomach, but he walked to the shaft and told the overman he was not seriously hurt. He, however, died from peritonitis the following day.
