Details of Event
When attending to a boiler and pump the boiler exploded and killed him. The boiler was insured and bad been duly examined and found in good order, but no hydraulic test had been made. The explosion was probably caused by the bursting of a cracked boiler plate which seems to have been leaking into the fire-box.
