He was working at the coal face when a large stone fell from a ‘pot hole’ and broke off at a block of coal at the face corner The coal rested on this block at one end and prevented the man being crushed to death. He, however, sustained a fracture of the pelvis bone and was bruised about the shoulders and died on April 13th.
