- Another man was lowering a stone, weighing about 3 cwts., by a hand crane by means of the brake when the clutch for the chain drum which holds up and works the jib up and down slipped, and thus momentarily raised the jib this released the catch or "pawl" holding the jib drum and allowed it to run free, and caused the jib to fall upon the deceased who was steadying the stone into its place.
