- Details of Event
- Two locomotives were attached behind 30 wagons of coal going down a colliery siding dipping 1 in 24. The train was stopped at a highway. Deceased had been lifting up some of the brakes of the first wagons when a coupling broke, causing five wagons to start off. The locomotives and other wagons then followed, and on deceased attempting to get on to one of the buffers he fell to the ground, and was fatally injured by the next wagon. He died on the 9th instant.
