- Details of Event
- Died 25th June, 1905. An old ladder about 16 feet long had been placed temporarily in a travelling way through a holing, which had just been completed, into an adjoining working, and while deceased was descending it for the first time he slipped and fell, probably from a point where a rung was missing, and was injured. He never resumed work and received full compensation up to the time of his death, although a medical certificate bad been obtained that he was fit for light work. He was able to attend to a public house he kept and was twice in the Isle of Man on business after the accident. No inquest was held, the doctor having certified that death was due to natural causes.
