- 16 October 1928: Kelty Miner Killed - William Coyle, 38, colliery machineman, Aitken Colliery, Kelty, belonging to the Fife Coal Company, was fatally injured while at work there. Coyle was caught by the picks of the machine. He was taken out in a precarious condition and died in West Fife Hospital shortly after. Deceased resided at 20 Adams Terrace, Kelty.
