The deceased was apparently in good health, and was seen quenching his oven in afterwards he was found face downwards lying on the coke oven bench in an insensible condition and died shortly afterwards. According to the medical evidence he died from shock caused by severe scalding. Whether he had tripped up and fallen on to the stream of hot water running from the oven, or had taken a fit, there was, in the absence of a Postmortem examination, no evidence to show.
