- Details of Event
- The two men were engaged moving a 5-in. water which was broken, from the floor of an old road. The pipe was just below the surface and close to the pack side. After removing the pipe the side, for about 5 yards long, rolled off over the pack and buried the two men. The floor had been saturated with water from the broken pipe and this, together with the removal of the pipe, caused the pack to give way and allowed the stone to roll off from an old weight break. 2 killed.
