Deceased was loading a tub of coal at longwall face while the stallman was wedging down some underholed coal only about 2 yards away from the tub. The coal in falling over crushed deceased against a prop, fracturing his skull. This accident should never have happened. The stallman should not have allowed deceased to work near the coal he was trying to get down.
