- Details of Event
- Deceased was loading a tub of coal in a Thick Coal opening which was only 7 feet high, when a "bump" suddenly caused four trees to reel out and brought down a large fall of coal. Deceased was caught by the fall and instantly killed. The area of coal which fell was about 15 feet by 9 feet, and the thickness 3.5 feet. The roof had been examined shortly before the fall and was considered quite safe.
