- Details of Event
- He was employed on the afternoon shift to tram ore from a chute on the level to the shaft. During the shift he went into a stope, where the men had blasted at the end of the previous shift, to see how much ore there was, and whilst there some ground fell from the hanging wall and killed him. If the place had been examined the same shift after blasting, and all loose ground pulled down, the accident might have been avoided.
