Details of Event
When travelling a self-acting incline he was run over by a train of tubs and fatally injured. The accident happened at the meeting in the middle of the incline and the refuge holes would be blocked by the train of empty tubs 40 in number and 60 yards long. At meetings it is advisable to have refuge holes at each side of the road.
