- 30 October 1933: Fife Pit Fatality - John Cook (59), a miner, who resided at 1 Rintoul Avenue, Blairhall, was killed yesterday afternoon as a result of a roof fall in the underground workings of Blairhall Colliery. Deceased, who was well-known in West Fife, was a member of the Executive Board of the Fife, Clackmannan, and Kinross Miners' Union. He was a Justice of the Peace for the county.
