Deceased and his mate were engaged ripping down and packing at the canch of a level road. Whilst deceased was kneeling on the floor utider the canch removing some stones, a large stone fell from the roof and killed him immediately. The stone fell from between two clearly defined slips running parallel with the road, and it displaced three props in falling. Owing to the presence of roof breaks at right angles to the slips it was necessaiy to use great care, but apparently the Fireman and both men were satisfied as to the safety of the roof.
