- The jig post was being moved up at the face of a drift jig, on one side of which was a fault. The post had been tried in its new position, but was too long, and deceased was stamping the hole deeper when about five tons of rock fell from between the fault and a slip on opposite side of the jig, and killed him instantly. The drawing of the jig post probably disturbed the roof and in view of the fault on one side of the place, it would have been a wise precaution to have set a prop or two near the way end, as the last bar was some distance back.
