The front tub of a set of two became derailed, and the tubs were uncoupled so as to allow the rear tub to rest on a "drag." The front tub was then put on the rails, and when moving it down to recouple, deceased was caught between the tub and a prop lid. His skull was fractured and he died in the Infirmary on the following day. There was only 5 inches clearance above the tub top but ample room at both sides.
