Details of Event
Deceased with another man, was lowering a full tub down an incline dipping from 1 in 10 to 1 in 6. One locker was used and both men were behind the tub until it stuck at a bad joint in the rails. Cluley went forward to push the tub back when the locker dropped out. The man behind lost control and Cluley was knocked down and so severely injured that he died on the 23rd November. Both men knew that the road needed repairing.
