In working place at face. Whilst stooping down making hole in floor for foot of prop a pot-hole dropped from the roof on to his back. Pot-hole seen at 12.50 p.m., at 2.30 p.m. there was a space of eight feet without support and 5 feet six inches from props to coal face the timbering rule being four feet six inches. Fireman passed through place 10 minutes before the accident. Died 27th December. (Average roof).
