- Details of Event
- Whilst in the act of taking out a low bar for the purpose of allowing the roof to fall, he was caught by a fall of roof 9 feet wide and 2 feet thick. The fall ran out two bars in addition to the one deceased he was loosening. The deputy bad left the place only 20 minutes previously. It was known to the deceased that the roof would fall when the bars were taken out as it was badly broken and was drawn away from a hard parting above. The accident was apparently due to an error of judgement on the part of the deceased by not doing the work at the loose end.
