Details of Event
Deceased was cleaning out the crank hole of an air compressing engine. While doing so the engine moved, and the crank in turning round crushed him against the bottom of the hole. The movement of the engine was due to leakage of steam past the steam valve, causing pressure on the piston. Instructions as to opening drain cocks had not been carried out.
