Deceased was working on a bench, 18 feet above the bottom of the quarry, attempting to prise off some overhanging limestone. He was apparently standing in a secure position, when the stone on which he stood gave way and he fell with it receiving minor injuries. Bronchitis supervened, which caused his death on 4th February. The stone at this spot was weakened by a cavity left by an ancient underground water-course, and it fell away from two backs or slips.
