- 12 February 1923: Miner Killed In Stirling Pit – No.3 Pit, Polmaise Colliery, Fallin, near Stirling, was the scene early yesterday morning of an accident involving the death of one man and the serious injury of another through the fall of a large portion of the roof of one of the roads. The man who lost his life was Thomas M'Ewan, 40, miner, 26 Abbey Road, Stirling, and the injured man Francis Church, 47, miner, 27 King Street, Stirling. [Scotsman 13 February 1923]
