Details of Event
Boiler leak killed 4. These men and another along with a deputy were removing a portion of an old side wall and arching, in an underground boiler house, with a view of replacing it, when a girder collapsed and a large quantity of stone fell and caused the death of Ogden instantly and the others subsequently died from their injuries in the Beckett Hospital at Barnsley. The deputy and the other man were also seriously injured. 4 killed.
