Deceased was timbering in advance of a coal-cutting machine, and while in the act of setting a bar to the roof, a stone, 6 feet by 3 feet by 10 inches, fell from between a break and a concealed slip in the roof and buried him. He received injuries from which he died in a few hours. The noise made by the coal-cutting machine six yards away would have prevented deceased heading if any warning was given.
