He was passing the side of a tram to help the loader get it into the stall when a slab of clod weighing 4 cwts fell front the roof into the tram. His head projected over the side of the tram and his neck was broken against the edge of it. The clod fell between the bars and did not disturb the timber. The stallman examined the place an hour before and thought it safe.
