Details of Event
On 6th Oct. 1903 he received a slight injury to his hand from a fall of coal. He afterwards went raging mad and attempted to cut his throat and was removed to Sedgefield Asylum where he died. Jury at inquest returned a verdict that injury caused insanity and therefore death but Dr Plummer the Medical Referee under the Compensation Act says it was nothing to do with his death.
