- Details of Event
- Deceased, with other boys, was proceeding down a 200 yard length of a dip (1 in 4) worked by an endless rope, when owing to a coupling becoming detached at a landing, two wagons and a trolley of timber ran amain and overtook them. There was a good and entirely separate travelling dip, but the boys had gone down the haulage dip in the temporary absence of the man at the landing, and against the rule prohibiting travelling while the rope is in motion. From the evidence it appeared that the boys were riding down the dip on an empty wagon.
