Died 28th January. Deceased appears to have been struck by a small fall of stone on the 23rd January but attached little importance to it and saw no doctor and it did not interfere with his work. On the 28th January be took ill in the pit and was carried out on a stretcher but was dead when the doctor saw him who stated at the inquest that death was probably due to cardiac failure and had no connection with any accident and the jury found that death was due to natural causes.
