Edwin Harold Tatton died in Bolivia as the result of an accident on April 3rd, 1914, aged 31 years.
He was educated at the Woolwich High School, and from 1899 to 1905 received his training as an engineer at the Royal Arsenal. Subsequently he was engaged in England as engineer for Messrs. Ernest Woods & Co. of Buenos Aires.
In 1906 he was appointed engineer-in-charge of the Cie. Rio Perry Laundun de Oro, Chile, and from 1907 to 1910 he was managing the Chocaya tin mines (Bolivia) for Messrs. Aramayo, Francke & Co., Ltd., and in the last-named year he took over the management of the Cie. Minière y Agricola Oploca of Bolivia. In the course of his duties in that connection he met with a very serious accident, which resulted in death.
Mr. Tatton was elected an Associate of the Institution in 1913.
